Training for Playworkers
One of the key elements of Come and Play is to provide training for playworkers to enable them to include fun music making in their daily club activities, equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to lead basic music making without the need of input from a specialist professional musician.
This is achieved through specially designed training sessions, as well as on-the-job training for playworkers, which sees their role develop from participant, to assistant, to co-leader.
4Children and Come and Play want to see music making being offered as a central part of out of school services for children, with voluntary and statutory provision joining up to make this a reality. Many Come and Play local authority partners have already secured funds for the continuation and expansion of music and arts provision in their area, and Come and Play is supporting all partners to replicate this.
